Student Answer Sheets for Periodic Assessments

NEW! During the 2009-2010 school year, students in Grades 4-6 in the following programs will use answer sheets when taking periodic assessments. Student booklets will be reused for the 2010-2011 school year.

8/25/08: We received the following email from downtown regarding the Teacher Materials –Skills Assessments:
Just wanted to let you know that there is an error on the page that says, “General Directions for Administration of the Optional Oral Reading Passages for the Oral Fluency Subtest”. As you can see, “Optional” is the error. You will find this error in both the 2000 & 2002 booklets for Grades 2-5. Grade 1 has both versions: optional & non-optional. I believe that is where SCOE made the error…they inadvertently inserted the “Optional” one in all the other grades.

Since administering Unit 4’s assessment is already “optional”, we don’t want to further confuse our teachers when they come across this page. Please clarify that administering the fluency passages is NOT optional in all the other units. Please remind them it is indeed only Unit 4, but the rest is still required. Note that the directions are still the same (on both versions), it’s just the title of the page that may be misleading.
