At Buchanan, the best K grade level activity I did was sitting down with the monitoring logs, assessments and the TE’s. We marked the times our projected area of need was introduced/taught, practiced, then monitored. Then we discussed questions like; How does this skill build and progress through the Direct Instruction Model to the time they’re monitored ? How can we support ELL’s? What will our small groups in IWT look like? How can we maximize our efforts? The teachers found it beneficial and it gave me classroom support focus.
