Hi Coaches,
Your final May calendar with reflections and your June projected calendars are due June 5 to your expert. Thank you.
Hi Coaches,
I’m putting together a slide show for our last coach meeting and I would love to highlight
-coaches in action
-funny photos (I know you have those Dr. Seuss costume pictures.)
-family meetings
-etc.
It would be great to go back as far as 7-8 years ago. Did we have digital cameras back then? Please send me the photos by Thursday, June 11 at 7pm.

Hi Coaches,
Your final April calendar with reflections and your May projected calendars are due May 5 to your expert. Please make sure that your reflection is on the progress toward meeting your monthly goals. Also, please revisit your goals and remember that goals should focus on teacher/student outcomes (this may include student data goals and/or instructional goals). Follow the SMART (Specific, Measureable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time-Bound) protocol. Attached you will find the calendar template and information to help you complete the calendar. Think of this as your monthly action plan.
Thanks for these links Mia.

RtI - Response to Intervention (RTI): What Teachers of Reading Need to Know by Eric M. Mesmer, Heidi Anne E. Mesmer - from IRA’s The Reading Teacher
Clear definitions, details of relevant legislation, and examples of RTI in action help explain this approach to identifying and supporting learners who may be struggling.
The purpose of this study was to examine the interrelationships and predictiveness of kindergarten early literacy indicators from the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) within the context of a path analysis. The results support the validity of kindergarten DIBELS in predicting ever more complex reading skills in a developmental progression from the middle of kindergarten to second grade.

HI Coaches,
Please note that the DRAS videos are available for download from the following link. DRAS Videos. These videos are not for public distribution and may be used for professional development purposes only.
Link to DIBELS on the blog. DIBELS
Please note that these are excel workbooks with multiple tabs (worksheets) on the bottom. The worksheet you will be using is labeled REPLACEMENT. This is for consumable materials only. The other worksheets are for core materials (complete kits) or replacement of individual items (not just consumables). Please use the correct page.
The Spanish order form will be emailed to schools that need it. (There was a security block and it will not allow me to add this form to the blog.) Sorry
Kathy will send out an email soon with further explanation and directions.

Now that you are more familiar with Excel, we will be looking at different ways to display our data using filters and freeze panes. You’ll learn to format and navigate between cells, hide/reveal and sort information and much more. At the end of this workshop, you will be able to display data in meaningful formats to help teachers improve their teaching and look closely at student needs. |
